what is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a process where plenty of people on the internet donate small amount of money for a reward or a cause and raise a large sum of money. People who support a crowdfunding campaign by pledging a small amount of money are known as backers. These backers support a campaign because not only they are interested in your product, but more importantly, they believe in the campaign product and team. They are very excited to see the idea become reality.

Why is it so great?

Raising money is important, but in reality, the crowdfunding concept is more than just fundraising. There are many other less tangible benefits from a crowdfunding campaign. These include brand awareness, venture investments, new partnerships, and even major acquisitions. Crowdfunding is a great way to introduce your product to the world, test the market, build visibility and credibility, and reach out to those you wouldn’t have considered otherwise. These benefits don’t appear at the onset, but successful project owners can speak to them based on their experiences. The journey begins with figuring out how to get people to understand and connect with what you do through video, image and words. And only until then, can you reach out to backers and other potential partners.

Campaign ends! Now what?

If you're part of the 36 percent of Kickstarter campaign owners whose projects successfully reached the funding goal, congratulations! That means you have already managed all the funds that you were looking for. Don't celebrate yet, work over time to deliver the perks on time.

If you failed to reach your goal on Kickstarter – you won’t get any money, unlike Indiegogo campaigns. But you do gain plenty of experience which you can use next time around. On Indiegogo however, if you have selected flexible funding, you will get whatever funds that you have managed to raise. This can be tricky though, as the backers will expect their perks and it is your responsibility to deliver it.

how can we help?

You might have heard of those extremely successful Kickstarter stories like Pebble Time and FLUX 3D Printer. But, running a successful crowdfunding campaign is not as easy it looks. Unfortunately, hundreds of campaigns fail on a daily basis and 64 percent of Kickstarter campaigns have not reached the funding goal.  This is where we come in.

We team up with industry partners to provide full-service marketing and creative solutions for Kickstarter and Indiegogo crowdfunding campaigns. Our approach is to work closely with each client not only before a campaign launches but also throughout the campaign. Our solutions are tailored to each client and each project, with the goals of maximizing the campaign visibility and ultimately reaching the target backer community.

If you already have a Kickstarter campaign URL, you can run a preliminary testing of your campaign for free on Hyperstarter diagnostic tool which identifies problematic areas and advises for improvement.
